even though i really like prints and outfits with color explosions (hello!), i'm also enjoying putting together more subdued color combinations and just letting one part of the outfit pop.  today it was these printed shoes, so i kept my jewelry pretty simple with the neutral tops.  i think tan & pink go really well together and i really liked the overall effect.  thanks for dropping by!

i tried really hard to wear an outfit worthy of valentine's day despite it being any other old day for me... i really did.  but i experience this odd dichotomy of feelings whenever a mainstream holiday rolls around with its own color scheme.  do i purposely dress in those colors to match the holiday {it always makes me feel corny!} or do i ignore it completely and come across as a scrooge?  i figured i could handle being a little corny today since i just sat in front of my desk in my basement office for the first part of the day and worked the rest of the day from home after an early afternoon meeting.  how do you feel about dressing for a holiday?

question:  do olive green & dusty rose "go together?"  i tried on about thirteen different outfits this morning, which sucked up way too much time out of my morning routine, so i finally settled on this so i could get out the door.  really, i just wanted to wear these two donated target stock items that i found at the goodwill this weekend immediately.  i am such a sucker for merona cardigans - the colors, prints, and embellishments - and i love finding them at the goodwill.  to hear about another gem of a gem that i found at the goodwill this weekend, check back tomorrow!!

today was definitely a monday, wasn't it?  i had a really hard time getting activated to do anything today.  yet if i were home all day, i'm sure i would have whipped up half a dozen skirts like the one i am wearing.  i mentioned this on friday, but it feels so good to be engaged creatively with something i am interested in.  i really think i could sit at my sewing machine and crank out skirt after skirt, but my closet is overflowing as it is so i don't know how well that would work after a while!  well anyway, i am going to watch the sing off and finish another skirt this evening and hopefully end this day on a more positive note.  here's to looking forward to tuesday!
