do you ever feel like you live more than one life?  a couple weeks ago i was in tulsa hanging out with my favorite band.  i have talked about this trip many times over the past few months so i'm sure you are all starting to associate heidi = hanson!  i was so exhausted from my trip and a cold that followed so i didn't manage to get any posts up last week when i returned, but i plan to share a bit about it this week!

there were many times over the weekend that i contemplated my different lives.  i have my hanson life with my hanson buddies and yearly trips to tulsa and roadtrips around the country following them to their shows.  i have this very secret blogging life that no one in my "real life" knows about.  and i have my normal go-to-work and come-home life - and they are all a bit separate. i have to remind myself that my hanson friends don't know about my blog and my blog friends don't know a whole lot about my day to day life, etc, so it's crazy when people begin to cross the line from one of my lives to the other.

rebekah, who started out as a blogging friend, is also a hanson fan and i've run into her the past two years during this hanson weekend - hey girl!  i find it so crazy that i met someone through blogging who shares the same fervor as i do about this band and also just happens to be a member of their fan club and travels just like i do to attend their fan club events.  it got me thinking that i d look forward to the day where i may meet more of my blogging friends in person and develop a different type of friendship with them offline as well.  do you feel you have just as many "lives" or do all of your lives seep into the others?

as for what i'm wearing in this post -- i wore this before my trip during national nursing home week.  last year we had a theme each day but this year staff were just told they could dress casually, which means jeans.  this seems like a very blogger outfit to me.  polka dot chambray, embellished sweater, skinnyish jeans.  i loved the look though and am thankful it was a cool, rainy day and i could handle all the layers.  thanks for visiting!

green!

j crew floral blouse {thrifted}
talbots jacket {thrifted}
gap 1969 straight jeans
mossimo ona flats

happy st patrick's day!  i am 0% irish and 0% interested in consuming dyed green stuff or watching parades but i sure will wear green, especially since the powers that be at my workplace said we could wear jeans today if we donned a green apparel item.  done!

i based this look off this one from a year ago because i remembered liking that casual friday look with my favorite green blazer so much. however, today i decided to wear my tightest pair of jeans that i was convinced didn't fit when they arrived in the mail back in august 2014 (whoa) and were promptly stored on the highest shelf of my closet.  i don't know what sparked me to pull them out today as i definitely haven't lost any weight since then.  needless to say i've got the button rigged with a ponytail holder like i'm a pregnant woman and i have a date with the treadmill tonight.  welcome to my life!

baubles & lace.

j crew lace panel tee
old navy skinny boyfriend khakis

do you ever put two words together to describe what you are wearing and think, "hey, that would be a good blog title!" ?  "baubles & lace" just sounds like it would be the title of someone's blog (and maybe it is) but nope, it's just what i'm wearing today.  i took a giant leap and instead of buying this shirt in navy & green, i bought the version you see today in black & gray.  i think the former would be much m ore versatile in my wardrobe, but i already have this navy & green blouse, so i made myself purchase the latter.  hopefully i'll find myself wearing it with non-black bottoms.

florals week (day 5)

old navy bootcut jeans   ·   merona blouse
lauren conrad blazer   ·   mossimo flats

i took yesterday off, but i'm back for the last day in the april flowers link-up andi, brynn, and kate have been hosting all week.  i am beginning to love the idea of theme weeks more & more to help narrow down my choices of what to wear each day.  this one really forced me to be creative and incorporate florals in the form of a dress, blouse, necklace, and today with this blazer.  thanks for the great linkup, girls!

and don't forget, next week marissa and i are hosting our spring pantone-inspired color challenge.  i'll host the link-up monday and tuesday and marissa will take over the remainder of the week, so get your radiant orchid outfit ready {i'm pretty sure i could just repeat this blouse!} and come back here on monday to add your link.  i'm looking forward to this challenge again and seeing everyone's looks!  here's our button if you like to schedule your posts and want to include it:

never been worn before: eyelet blouse.

 j crew eyelet blouse {thrifted}   ·   old navy blazer {thrifted}
old navy boyfriend khakis   ·   mossimo ona flats

for day two of my "never been worn before" theme week i'm featuring this j crew eyelet blouse that i thrifted at the goodwill in august of 2013 for $6.99.  "why on earth would someone have donated this?!" i asked myself as i adjusted my goodwill goggles and dropped it in my basket before another customer could fight me for it.  it wasn't until i got it home, washed it, and looked it over did i see the snag in the eyelet around the far left side of my torso (kind of in the middle of the close-up shot).  yeah, that's why it was donated.  into the mending box it went thinking i could do some sewing handiwork to reattach the torn part to the blouse.  well, 8 months flew by and i forgot about it until recently.  i decided that with a blazer layered over it, the tear is shielded and not noticeable.  i will probably still seek my mom's assistance to do some stitching repairs, but until then i'm trying not to hang my head too low in shame that so much time passed before i even tried to wear this blouse.  because isn't it just lovely?!
