happy friday!  the end of this week definitely feels good; it was a long but productive week at work and i am ready to do nothing all weekend... except maybe plan some outfits for next week.  i've decided i need a little more organization to getting dressed each week so i'm implementing some themes for myself to guide the selection of at least one item i can build an outfit around.  

starting monday i'll be doing a "never been worn before" week... my outfits will feature at least one item i've owned for a week, a month, a year (yes, those items exist in my closet), whatever, that have never been worn.  i'm not doing a link-up, but if you want to join me or use my theme as inspiration for yourself at some point next week, feel free to do so!  and please, someone out there tell me that you, too, have something in your closet you've owned for a year and has never been worn.  someone... anyone?  :)

oct 2 / i really had no idea what to wear this morning, which is always dangerous if i want to get to work on time, but before i fell asleep last night i was trying to think about what i could wear with this gray sheath dress.  of course i had to match the shoes, belt, and bracelet but i liked the aqua color of the cardigan against the gray.

i was really excited to wear this belt and these shoes today because i got such good deals on them.  i've been eying this belt in the clearance section at target for weeks now the price finally dropped to 70% off.  yes, please!  i also picked up this belt for $3 and change.  these shoes were a find at savers yesterday for $2.50.  i feel that i have more luck at the GW, but i do pop into savers whenever they have sales.  yesterday all clothes & shoes were 50% off and i was pleased to also find two great button-up shirts in colors i don't have (lavender and hot pink) and another orange cardigan (i know!).  i love thrifting!!  

 

have a great weekend - i am going to try to get started on some more skirts (like this one) so i can have my mom help me finish the waistbands and zippers over thanksgiving... that part of the construction always gives me trouble.  i have a feeling i'll have a pretty crazy assembly line going, but it'll be really rewarding and fun if i can crank out several that i can have ready to finish with my mom's help.  i have a lot of fabric in my stash i've been eager to make skirts out of.  thanks for visiting!
