you guys, i just need you to tell me whether or not i can pull of the wedge bootie look. i want to love these shoes and i'm always (seriously, always) tempted by the toms version until i remind myself i have this perfectly good dupe pair, but i still feel silly when i wear them. maybe it's finding the right outfit combo that they "go" with or maybe it's just wearing them regardless because i like them. i'm not sure. i guess fashion is all about wearing what you like with confidence and not wishing that your calves were slimmer or legs were tanner or what-ever... and i guess i think i achieved that. so... i guess i don't need your help after all!  heh... kidding.  what is the last thing you wore that you felt you just needed to confidently go for?

haha, i just have to poke fun at myself with the title of this post because it's the only thing that runs through my head when i look at this picture!  my legs look so stumpy... i think jeans with a wider leg opening would have looked a bit better with these shoes or these jeans would have looked better with a different shoe.  isn't it amazing what jumps out at us when we look at a picture of ourselves vs in a full length  mirror?  i definitely didn't catch how funny my feet looked before i left this morning!  then again, it's a wonder i got dressed and out the door in anything at all.  today was one of those mornings where i woke up and had absolutely nothing planned to wear, so aside from the jeans (thanks to it being a friday), i just quickly threw something together.  i love this bright magenta blazer and was pleased to find this lightweight scarf was a perfect match.  now, if only my legs didn't look so stumpy!

after work, i stopped by target and spontaneously bought an ipad air.  the 10% off cartwheel deal + $30 gift card + another 5% savings from my redcard was hard to pass up.  do you own an ipad?  am i the only one left on the planet who didn't own one before today?  i already have an iphone so i'm trying to discover what more i can do with it... any suggestions?

i can't believe i am wearing this today, you guys.  this is the one pair of skinny jeans i own that i purchased years ago to wear underneath tall boots.  never in my wildest thoughts would i ever imagine myself wearing them like this.  i never thought i had the right proportions to wear skinny jeans with flats, so they were always stuffed into boots.  but when i slipped them on this morning and thought about these booties i said, hey, let's give it a try.  maybe i still don't have the right body type to wear skinny jeans and maybe i'll never wear them like this again, but for a casual friday in the office i was willing to take the risk... and you know what?  i loved it.  happy weekend!

i tell you, the clearance shoe aisle of target is a dangerous place to happen upon, but how can you look away when 70% off signs are flashing in your face like a lit marquee?  oh dear.  it's all justifiable though when you come away with two pairs of shoes unlike anything you already have for less than $20 and you used gift cards that covered most of the cost.  i love, love, love chestnut/cognac brown so these shooties were a no-brainer, especially after lusting over the TOMS version that are sold out everywhere in my size.  i also picked up a pair of teal wedges to work toward my goal of adding more colorful shoes to my shoe closet this year.  not that i want to be an enabler or anything but what are you still reading this post for?  go to target and get yourself some new shoes!!  have a great weekend & thanks for visiting!
