i'm glad this outfit held up for me throughout a really long day.  i think the bright colors helped!  thankfully i was able to take a break during the middle of it, and i popped in a goodwill that i used to frequent weekly (and often times more than once a week!) a couple years ago.  i spent most of my time in the blazer section, as that's not an area i ever really browse.  i'm glad i did though, because i came away with a cute fitted navy blazer for $1.49 (the colored tag of the week is always $1.49 on tuesdays!).  i also saw a cute magenta & teal hounds tooth pendleton blazer, and though i wouldn't know anything about that brand if i didn't follow other blogs, i get the sense that it's a high end brand?  someone out there can educate me.  too bad it was the wrong color tag or i might have tried it on!  have a good evening!

i don't often participate in dressing in any given holiday's signature colors, but i just had to wear this skirt today.  halloween is my least favorite holiday (i'll be honest, i'm a real grinch about it), but i figured i could at least embrace the beauty of fall that we're still experiencing here in the midwest, and this skirt definitely screams "FALL!" to me.  my coworkers must think every time i wear a new skirt to work that it's one i've made, but i'm okay with that.  they're right.  one asked what number i'm up to now, so i had to count when i got home... i'm up to 10.  i've become a sewing machine!

since i've proclaimed my love for making skirts so loudly, i've decided that i will give one away to one of my readers once i reach 35 followers.  hopefully that won't take too long since i'm only a few readers away, so if anyone doesn't follow publicly through GFC, please do!  i'd love to give back to those who take an interest in this silly blog and share some of my creativity and new interest with others.  thanks again to everyone who drops by or leaves a comment!  have a happy (?) halloween!

i know it's not a "rule" anymore to match your shoes, belt, and purse, but there is a certain put-togethered feeling of matchyness that i love... well, even though my purse doesn't match.  speaking of purses, usually i never glance at the purses at the goodwill, but i reached for this one last month and noticed that its red tag signified that it was target stock.  the stitching of one end had come undone, but that was a quick fix with a sewing machine... and now i have a new purse for $1.99.  it's big enough that i can fit my nalgene bottle or dslr in there too, which i love!  have a great evening!
