sadly, i guess i have been a bit lax about posting outfit pictures with this dress because i feel like i have been wearing it quite frequently but i've only featured one outfit with it on my blog so far!  we'll, here's another to add to the mix.  i'm so glad i purchased this dress back in december because i have definitely gotten good use out of it this winter.  our temps in minnesota are inching toward that threshold where tights are suitable in the early morning but are regretted in the afternoon, so i'm not sure i'll be wearing many more outfits like this, but i'd still like to try wearing this dress without tights as we transition into spring.

i wasn't going to blog today's outfit but when i was scrolling through my reader during lunch and saw my pal brynn wearing this same cardigan today i just had to blog too and link to her.  too funny!  brynn, we are in each other's heads!

it also got me thinking about these target cardigans that how many of them have such unique prints they're pretty recognizable. i stopped wearing one of my printed target cardigans at my old workplace because another employee also owned it and wore it at least very other week and i never wanted to unknowingly wear it on the same day as her!  are you funny about clothes like that if you know a coworker owns the same or similar items?  that's just kind of an awkward moment i wouldn't want to occur--but for some reason it's funny when bloggers randomly wear the same things.  i know, my life is such a cliche sometimes!

there are certain outfits i put on where i think to myself, "you just need to dress like this every day."  this was one of those outfits.  classic, straight pencil skirt in a neutral navy, a pretty, feminine blouse with interesting detail, a statement necklace, and fun heels.  it's definitely a formula i try to stick to, but some outfits end up working better than others!  i loved this outfit so much!  it's hard to tell, but my tights are the same maroon shade as the necklace.  thanks for visiting!

​oct 22nd / the color marissa & i are featuring today for our pantone-inspired fall color challenge is turbulence, a smoky blue-gray.  this color gave me the most difficulty; i have a scarf that matches the color perfectly but i just couldn't build an outfit around it!  finally, i settled on this faux-wrap dress from target.  i thought the combination of blues in the swirly vertical pattern definitely gave an effect of turbulent ocean waters in the above hue.  plus, it's a dress that i don't seem to offer much wear, so it felt good to have a purpose to build an outfit with it.  i think the blue looks great with the maroon/burgundy necklace & heels.
