i am in the camp that it is totally acceptable to repeat outfits if you really liked them, and so with that disclaimer i present this outfit that i've already worn.  the only difference from the last time was the added button-down underneath it.  i have at least one morning a week that, despite my planning and best efforts, the outfit i picked out just doesn't work for me... so then i reach for something that has worked in the past.  and then i just try again tomorrow!  have a good evening!

i again profess my love for target skirts.  way back in august i had my eye on this skirt, passed it up when it went on sale, and then missed out when it went on clearance... until a couple weeks ago i did a sweep through the clearance aisles and my eye zoned into this lonely skirt stuck between a handful of khaki pants.  i believe that it always pays to wait; i didn't need this skirt back in august, i was just drawn to the print.  i keep my eye on things i like and purchase it if the price is right... and at $5.74, the price was definitely right for this skirt {it's too bad i there weren't any target coupons to pair with it!}.  do you feel the same, or do you regularly purchase clothes at full price?

tuesday (two-thirds)

this is another one of the skirts that i made with my mom when she was here for a visit, and i'm not sure if i could love it any more.  my lovely coworkers were so kind enough to compliment me today too & i got to gush about it.  i picked up three more batches of fabric at joanns last night, so expect to see more skirts like these in the future if i can figure out how to wind a bobbin on my sewing machine without my mom's help.  my boss also kindly added that i always seem to put together good color combinations.  you probably can't tell that there's a tiny blue rim around the little white blossoms on the skirt, but that is the reasoning why it's paired with this awkward cropped cardigan that i've never been able to find a way to wear.  blue & yellow also makes sense to me because of the two-thirds rule.  i don't think i would have felt as confident in this outfit a couple years ago and maybe would have naturally reached for a brown cardigan instead, but i learned a lot from the chics and their color tutorials.  i would really recommend taking a look at that resource on their blog!

today's outfit does double duty for the 21 day challenge, which i have regretfully not been doing too well with this past week and a half or so.  today i'm wearing my remix item (black skirt) for the third time, fulfilling that requirement, and now i think i am going to push it to the back of my closet and try to work some other skirts and slacks into rotation!  what i really want to talk about is this gorgeous statement necklace.  it's perfect that this prompt came up when it did, as i just received this gorgeous necklace in the mail from abbey.  i'm no stranger to chunky necklaces, but this one really wowed me!  talk about a statement!

i found this gem of a skirt in the clearance racks at target yesterday and couldn't wait to wear it right away today. the colors are so appealing!  wearing it with this cardigan might have been a too obvious choice to make, but i do like to coordinate.

i love merona skirts form target. i really think they rival some of the more expensive stores out there.  the patterns are always fun but work appropriate, the cut is classic, and they're lined. i have a handful already and snatch ones up like this whenever the price is right (or i find them new at the goodwill!). this is another one that i'm keeping my eye on!
