please excuse the radio silence as of late. i  have been away dealing with a lot of pesky grown up things lately like touring places to live, trying to legally break my apartment lease so i can move, and trying to get my retirement account from my old job transferred over to my new retirement plan. how do people figure this stuff out if they don't have a lawyer in the family!?  its real hard for a single lady like me to understand that's for sure. it's so stressful and has completely zapped my energy or interest in blogging or putting together interesting outfits. so i've been reaching for easy combinations like printed skirts and coordinating sweaters like these two outfits from tuesday and today. hopefully by the end of the week all of these issues will be resolved and i can look forward to new things.  i hope you all have been having a good week!

sept 26th / the first time i wore this skirt last month i told you all how excited i was about it... and well, that remains true, but i realized i don't really have any tops that match any of the colors in it perfectly! so, white it is with some colorful accessories -- that always works! are you signed up for target mobile coupons on your iphone? they're just within the target store app, and sometimes you can text for extra ones.  anyway, there is a great buy one accessory, get one free mobile coupon available right now. being the frugal lady i am, i decided to use the coupon on two clearance necklaces;  this one that was $8.49 and another one that was $5.08... and this one ended up being free (usually the lesser price item is free for those types of promotions)! i definitely never feel guilty about getting clearance jewelry for free!  have you scored any great deals at target lately?

august 28th / this is the skirt that almost wasn't.  every once in a while i'll search for pencil skirts on ebay, or narrow it down to printed pencil skirts or floral pencil skirts.  this one caught my eye immediately and i think i ended up using the "buy it now" option for about $14 + shipping.  even with the tracking information the seller provided, the item said it was delivered but it never wound up in my mailbox.  the seller was kind enough to refund my payment, and the next day it was in my mailbox!  maybe it got lost in the mail truck?  who even knows... i am just so thrilled it actually arrived and fits.  the floral print is so pretty and there are so many amazing colors to match with it.  i really am so happy with this skirt and was so excited to wear it.

in other news, i apologize for being absent this week - i took monday off to hang out at our state fair all day leading up to a free concert in the evening from my favorite band, hanson (yes!).  this was quite the feat, seeing as how it was in the mid 90s the entire day.  but my friends and i survived and made it back yesterday for their second show, even catching them do a couple promo interviews at media booths set up around the fair.  i've loved this band for sixteen years and every time i see a show i'm so uplifted and energized with their gift and their ability to share it with their fans.  they are so amazing.  i'll leave you with a shot from the show:
